Chris Marble, an assistant professor of ornamental and landscape weed management in the Department of Environmental Horticulture, was recently recognized by the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) and awarded a University Term Professorship.

“I’m honored to be recognized by the university,” Marble said. “As an early career scientist still building my research program, it’s important to know the university supports the work that I am doing.”

University Term Professorship awards recognize faculty achievement and promote continued excellence among UF/IFAS faculty members. The award lasts for three years and recognizes applicants commitment to promoting the UF/IFAS mission and commitment to conducting research and outreach with industry.

Past award winners from the Mid-Florida Research and Education Center include Hayk Khachatryan (agricultural economics), Dave Norman (plant pathology) and Jianjun Chen (plant physiology).
