Camp Cherry Lake

Each summer, youth in Levy County pack their bags to spend four days and four nights away from home at Camp Cherry Lake in Madison, Florida.

Camp Cherry Lake

Camp Cherry Lake 2018 FunThis year, from June 18 through June 22, 2018 campers had the opportunity to learn in a fun and exciting outdoor environment!

Youth ages 8 to 13 had the opportunity to learn kayaking, canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, swimming, and so much more. At the same time that youth are mastering these skills, they are also gaining valuable life skills such as independence, decision making, leadership, and responsibility.

Camp attendance is on a first come, first served basis and spots will NOT be reserved. This year Levy County was paired with Alachua, Citrus, Dixie, and Gilchrist County youth.

The new 2019 camp dates for Levy County have not been set.

We will put notices out on Facebook and update this blog post when we have more information for you, including dates and fees.

There will be an Information Session/Meet and Greet held at the Levy County Extension Office before Cherry Lake happens, so campers and parents who are new can learn about the camp experience.

In order to complete registration, the following forms must be turned into the Extension Office by the end of regular registration (June 1). Click on the form name to access the PDF version of the form.

We will still be accepting in-office payments of exact cash or checks made payable to the University of Florida at the Levy County Extension Office (Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM). The registration fee for in-office payments will be the same as online payments. Individuals wishing to break the camp fee into multiple payments need to contact Ms. Genevieve Mendoza to make arrangements. For questions, please call 352-486-5131. We look forward to your child attending camp this summer!
