Training and Workshops Available

The following training’s are coming up to help prepare for pesticide and fertilizer licenses, as well as obtain CEUs for existing licenses:

Big Bend Pesticide Training Series (Ag/Restricted Use licenses)

September 16-19 – Most in mornings only – UF/IFAS Extension Jefferson County Office – $10 – Click here for agenda, dates for each category, and registration.
This is a series of trainings with different categories on each day. Each training will include a lecture followed by the exam. Exam and CEU categories include CORE (3 CEUs), Private Applicator (4 CEUs), Right-of-Way (4 CEUs), Aquatic (4 CEUs), and Ornamental and Turf (O&T) (4 CEUs).

GI-BMP Training and Exam (Limited Urban Fertilizer License, FDEP and COT certificate)

October 1 – 8-4 – UF/IFAS Extension Leon County Office – $30 – Agenda and registration information at https://leongibmp_10-19.eventbrite.com.
This training prepares attendees to successfully pass the GI-BMP exam which is required for application of a FDACS Limited Urban Fertilizer license. Attendees will also complete the training required by the City of Tallahassee and Leon County for professional fertilizer applicators.
A total of 2 CORE CEUs and 2 CEUs for Private App, O&T, LCLM, LLO, LUF, and Comm. L&O available.

FAMU’s 43rd Annual Entomology Field Day and Workshops

October 29-30 – 8-5 – TCC Campus – $145 – Click here for agenda and registration.
This two-day event has all sorts of workshops mostly for structural pests (roaches, termites, ants, rodents, ticks, and mosquitoes), but some horticulture related CEUs as well. CEUs available in Core, GHP, WDO, L&O, Public Health and Fumigation.

Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance Training and Exam (LCLM)

November 6 – 8-5 – UF/IFAS Extension Leon County Office – $35 – Agenda and registration information at https://leonlclm_11-19.eventbrite.com.
This will provide attendees the training and exam for the Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (LCLM) – aka Roundup license. A total of 3 CORE CEUs and 3 CEUs for O&T, LCLM, LLO, and Comm, L&O available.
