According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), just under half of the adults in the United States get enough aerobic exercise. Walking is one of the easiest aerobic exercises to perform; no special equipment required. Walking can improve your health by aiding with weight loss, lowering risks for diabetes, cancer and even heart disease. Additionally, the National Institutes for Health (NIH) walking for exercise reduces anxiety and depression leading to improved cognitive function and self-esteem.

We welcome all community members to participate in the Heart and Sole 5K and take the personal step to improve your health.
