From Robotics to Ruminants, Jackson County 4-H Members Participate at the North Florida Fair

Jackson County 4-H was represented in areas from “Robotics to Ruminants” at the 2016 North Florida Fair, held on November 3rd through the 13th in Tallahassee. Jackson County 4-H members that participated included Bud Basford, Case Birge, Elizabeth Halling, Nikolas Halling, Faith Hardin, Dylan Jackson, Chloe Kent, Skyler Martinez, Beau Miles, Hailey McDaniel, Tanner McDaniel, Carmen Miller, Wilton Pittman, Anslie Yoder and Nathalie Yoder. These youth participated in the Arts and Crafts Division, the Junior Beef Division and the Robotics competition. Jackson County 4-H also had a club booth designed by the 4-H Livestock Club.

Many hours of hard work by both youth and 4-H volunteers, goes into these projects and competitions. Participation in 4-H projects and events gives youth the opportunity to gain valuable life skills such as skills in consumer selection, food safety, public speaking, decision making, time management, an understanding of scientific livestock production and management practices, and making informed decisions.
