4-H Club Holds Photography Contest

Members of the Jackson County 4-H Livestock Club held a photography contest this past week. Over 30 photos were submitted by members ranging from age 5 to 17. Blue ribbon winners in the age group of 8 and up are eligible to proceed to the State 4-H Photo Contest to be held in June. The Classes in which entries were submitted are: People, Animals, Plant/Flora, Scenic, Architectural Elements, Still Life, Hat Tricks and Magic, Photo Story, Black and White and 4-H Theme. Youth were allowed to submit up to 5 entries. However, each entry must have been in a different class and were judged on: focus, lighting, subject, composition, impact and creativity.

The blue ribbon winners will go on to the State 4-H Photo Contest to compete, where three top entries will be selected for each class. Three division winners will be selected from among the winning class entries in each division. These are considered Best of Show. The winning senior division entries will be displayed Florida 4-H University. Junior and Intermediate winners will be announced the following week via florida4h.org and the Florida 4-H Facebook page.
