Animal Science Project WorkDay Set

100_2013The Washington County 4-H is helping Holmes County 4-Hers interested in raising and exhibiting a beef or swine projects this year. Any Holmes County 4-H youth ages 8-18 years old interested in learning more about an animal science project is invited to participate in Washington County’s Animal Science Project Workday set for Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 5:30 PM. The meeting will be held at the Washington County Ag Center.

This parent/exhibitor workshop will give you the resources you need to get your project started. From where to purchase an animal, the tools you’ll use, to the feed you’ll need, you’ll get the answers you need from Mark Mauldin, Washington County Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent. Cindy Yeager, Loan Officer from the Farm Service Agency, will be presenting information on the Youth Loan Program and other programs that may help youth with their projects.
In order to participate in this Workshop, it is required that parent(s) contact the Holmes County 4-H Office at 850-547-1108 to reserve seats.
