Hillsborough 4-H SPARK Academy

Are you interested in working with youth? Would you like to share your passions and knowledge with the future generations? Would you like to learn new skills, such as technology, marketing, teaching, and many more? …Then the 4-H SPARK Academy may be right for you!

The 4-H SPARK Academy is a 3 part course to train and certify new volunteers to become 4-H project leaders and curriculum facilitators. The class of volunteers will attend trainings on selected dates in January, with each meeting focusing on a curriculum that is fun and easy to learn. Curriculum to include Urban Agriculture/Gardening, Financial Management, the National Youth Science Day Experiment, Leadership Development, Environmental Science, and Food Science/Nutrition. Hillsborough County 4-H agents and invited speakers will lead the trainings.

Once the training series is completed, volunteers will become certified 4-H project leaders that can begin teaching and educating in schools, clubs, etc. in Hillsborough County. Volunteers will be able to share knowledge they have learned in the training and things they are passionate about with school-aged children in the community. There will be an annual commitment of time volunteered that the certified volunteers must agree to give annually to retain the certification.

This program is completely free and would be great addition to any resume or for anyone that is simply looking to give back to their community.

Participants are expected to attend all 3 classes to receive the certification.
