Prepping for the Fair

Many of our 4-H youth have been working are tending to their animals, getting them ready for the upcoming Highlands County Fair. As you continue to make show preparations, it’s important to remember your deadlines. Please make sure to double check the fair calendar that is located in the fair rulebook, as the schedule has changed since it was first posted.

4-H Exhibit Booth

This year the fair will be held a week earlier, meaning that entry forms for the 4-H Exhibit Booth are going to be here quicker than you know it. The Highlands County Fair will be held February 4-12, 2022. 4-H Exhibit Booth registration will be open January 1 until 5:00PM Friday, January 14. All 4-H exhibits are due to the 4-H office on Monday, January 24, 2022. Food entries must be submitted between 8:00AM and 12:00PM. All exhibits must be picked up the week of February 14-18 (Monday- Friday, 8AM-5PM). For more deadlines and additional information, please refer the the 4-H Exhibit Booth rules.

Changes

Over the years there have been several changes to the rules. Every year, we have a few participants that do not read the rules and get points deducted for not following the guidelines. Our youth put a lot of time and effort into their projects, so please be sure to follow the guidelines to get the best score possible. This year registration will be online only through 4-H Online. The 4-H Exhibit Booth rules and sample guide form can be found on the Highlands County 4-H Google Site.
