Friday October 16 at 1:00 pm – Biological Control Methods Used for Invasive Species” – Invasive plants can be difficult to control if nothing here in Florida eats them! Learn how several imported biological controls have been used to provide control over some of our worst invasive plant species. Controls for air potato vine and Brazilian pepper trees will be discussed, along with how new agents are tested and approved. Tuesday October 20 at 1:00 pm – “Delusionary Parasitosis: Or the Invisible Itches!” – This presentation will cover the fascinating field of delusionary parasitosis. Delusionary parasitosis is when people have a belief they are infested with living things, such as insects. We will explain this unique field in the pest control industry and examples of what Extension agents see firs hand locally. This is a really great talk, so I highly recommend it.
