Florida Master Gardener class begins Jan. 23, 2019

Levy County Extension hosts the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF-IFAS) Extension Master Gardener (MG) program!

The University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service is a federal, state, and county partnership dedicated to developing knowledge in agriculture, human and natural resources, and the life sciences and to making that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life.

Master Gardener instruction prepares volunteers to assist in community horticulture outreach, research and education in Dixie, Levy and Gilchrist counties.

With the exception of March 8, classroom and field trips occur Wednesdays, beginning January 23, 2019, and will meet once a week through April 3.  Unless otherwise noted, instruction takes place at the UF-IFAS Extension AG Center, 625 North Hathaway Ave (27 A), Bronson, 9:30-3:30. There will be no class on Wed. March 6.  Instead, class will be on field trip, Friday, March 8,  to the Nature Coast Biological Station, Cedar Key.

A county and/or UF furnished background check and drug screen will be required.

MG application and $65 (non-refundable) materials fee due January 4, 2019. Check or money order payable to University of Florida.  Questions? Contact Barbara L. Edmonds, 352-486-5131, email savemygarden@ufl.edu or stop by Levy County Extension office or area libraries to pick up an application.
