Helping You Recover from Hurricane Irma

As a result of Hurricane Irma, many people are now dealing with the major job of clean-up and recovery. UF/IFAS Extension has a lot of resources and expertise that people can call upon as they have questions and are looking for solutions.

To help to clarify who and where to call, here is a list of all the UF/IFAS Extension county offices that are located around the state; included are contact phone numbers and each counties’ respective County Extension Director.

If you are experiencing difficulty in getting through, or not knowing who to call, feel free to contact the Office of the Dean for Extension at 352-392-1761, and we will direct you to the help you need.

In addition to the above, our citrus extension faculty have created a hotline for citrus growers. As growers assess the damage from Hurricane Irma, UF/IFAS citrus specialists are available to answer your questions related to hurricane recovery practices for HLB-affected citrus groves.

To provide answers as quickly as possible, UF/IFAS has established the “UF/IFAS Citrus Growers’ Hotline” (863-956-8611) for growers to call with their questions. Staff will be answering the hotline weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and will take down growers’ questions and contact information that will be delivered to the appropriate citrus specialist to reply back directly to the caller.

Growers are also encouraged to call the hotline to let UF/IFAS know what the current needs are for your operation. This information will help direct the planning of future UF/IFAS citrus extension programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the Florida citrus industry.

All the best,

Nick
