Diamondback Terrapin Monitoring Training

Diamondback terrapins are a flagship species for coastal salt marshes. In the attempt to assess the health of the Pensacola Bay system, Florida Sea Grant seeks volunteers to help monitor selected beaches in the bay area for the presence of these animals.

Volunteers will need to attend a training to better understand the project and select a beach to monitor. The 2017 trainings are

Monday Mar 27 – Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center – 10:00-11:00

Monday Apr 3 – Escambia County Extension Office – 10:00-11:00

Monday Apr 10 – Big Lagoon State Park – 2:00-3:00

If interested please let Rick O’Connor know which training you plan to attend. (850) 475-5230. roc1@ufl.edu
