Health Advisory Issued for Bayou Texar

The heavy rain this week decreased salinities across the bay area but increased the bacteria count for Bayou Texar. Enterococcus bacteria counts should not be above 104 colonies / 100ml of sample and BT measured 106 colonies this week.

No red tide reported in the panhandle this week. Background levels were detected in SW Florida.

No fish kills have occurred in the Pensacola Bay area since the beginning of the month.
