Are You Prepared?

Are you, your family and your workplace ready for the hurricane season? It started June 1 and runs through November 30th. Last week was National Hurricane Preparedness Week, and the state of Florida has a “sales tax holiday” from May 31 – June 8, where consumers don’t have to pay sales tax on hurricane preparation supplies. Below we have a new poster that provides helpful tips on disaster preparations and planning. Please share with friends and family, especially those who may be new to the area or inexperienced with hurricanes.

Download a printable copy of the Disaster Prep & Planning poster shown below.

For more information or to obtain a copy of the newly released Homeowners Handbook to Prepare for Natural Disasters, please contact Coastal Sustainability Agent Carrie Stevenson at ctsteven@ufl.edu.
