2020 Landscape Gardening Series

The annual Landscape Gardening Series sponsored by the University of Florida/IFAS Extension Charlotte County Master Gardeners will begin Thursday, January 23. Six sessions will be held on consecutive Thursdays at the Port Charlotte Beach Complex, 4500 Harbor Blvd. from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.

Gardening in Southwest Florida differs from anywhere else in the country. The lecture series is a condensed training for people to learn to successfully manage their gardens and landscapes. Newly transplanted residents and experienced gardeners alike will benefit from the expertise provided by the lecturers. The series includes:

  • January 23 Propagating Plants Mike Stevens, Master Gardener
  • January 30 Peaches and Blueberries Dr. Mongi Zekri, Citrus Special, UF/IFAS
  • February 6 Palms and Diseases Dr. Brian Bahder, Asst Professor, UF/IFAS
  • February 13 Success With Succulents Joyce Laubach, Master Gardener
  • February 20 Pruning Your Landscape Dr. Pat Williams, UF/IFAS Sarasota
  • February 27 Tropical Ferns Gil MacAdam, Ret. Broward County

The cost of the series is $25.00 if pre-registered by January 20. Pre-registration is recommended but you can also pay $5.00 per class at the door (seating limited).
