Join us for this fun informative workshop, and take home your very own rain barrel.
Learn how the use of rain barrels will conserve water, save money by reducing the use of potable water in landscapes, and reduce storm water runoff by storing and diverting runoff from impervious surfaces (like roofs).
Properly installed and used all year round in Charlotte County, a rain barrel captures and reuses significant amounts of water annually. Savings on your water bill can be as high as $10-15 monthly. A rain barrel installed at each downspout on your home is one way to get the most from rainwater falling during the dry season (Nov.-May).
An essential tool for Florida-Friendly Landscaping, all participants will receive a rain barrel. Rain barrels are prepared thanks to the Charlotte County Master Gardeners. Each recycled barrel sold holds 55 gallons when full and includes, if desired, a plastic spigot and overflow fittings. Each rain barrel is made mosquito-proof and ready for painting and installing on your home.
