4-H Youth Garden Club Plant Sale

Our Fun and Sun 4-H Garden Club is holding a vegetable plant sale on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 8:00 to 10:00 am CT at the Calhoun County Extension Office on HWY 20 in Blountstown. This plant sale is in partnership with Global Youth Service Day, a program of Youth Service America, and the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation. Global Youth Service Day is one of the largest service events in the world, and the only day of service dedicated solely to engaging youth ages 5-25. Global Youth Service Day is a time for children, teenagers, and young adults to serve, and for everyone to celebrate the contributions young people make to their communities every day of the year through service and service-learning.

Global Youth Service Day provides an opportunity for the community to engage youth as active citizens, community leaders, and problem solvers, so we encourage Calhoun County citizens to come out and support our youth garden club plant sale. No plant over $1.00. Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase food which will be sent home with children in Calhoun County Schools who we know live in homes where food is scarce. For more information, please contact Peg Frith at Calhoun County Extension Office, 674-8323.
