4-H Youth Livestock Project Workshop

Livestock1A 2002 Texas A&M University study revealed seven life skills that parents felt their children had gained through participation in beef livestock projects. Those life skills included accepting responsibility, goal setting, developing self-discipline, developing self-motivation, increasing knowledge of the livestock industry, building positive self-esteem and learning decision making skills.
To help both parents and youth learn more about the large animal science projects with steers, heifers and swine, an informational workshop will be held by UF|IFAS Extension Washington County.

Join us on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 5:30 pm in the Washington County Ag Center East Wing to learn the basics of youth livestock projects.

The workshop will include information on:

• selecting the right animal
• feeding your animal
• the equipment and facilities you’ll need
• preparing for shows

To sign up for the workshop, please RSVP by phone: 850-638-6180 or by email to: menacof@ufl.edu

UF|IFAS Extension Washington County is an equal opportunity institution.
