Starting a Farm in Alachua County – Education opportunities
If you are interested in further developing your entrepreneurial skills for your agricultural business, we will be offering a couple of workshops on August 25th and September 11th at the Farm Credit location in Alachua County. You are encouraged to attend both events to get the most out of the content of the workshops. You can register for one or both workshops here.
Workshop 1: Starting a Farm Business in Florida
August 25, 2020 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Articulate your vision and goals; assess your resources; evaluate the suitability and feasibility of farm enterprises; and learn about business structures, registration, and regulations.
Workshop 2: Developing Your Farm Business Plan
September 11, 2020 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Conduct market research and a SWOT analysis. Develop a mission statement, marketing plan, operations plan, human resource plan, financial plan, and risk management plan.
These classes are offered in a partnership between UF/IFAS Extension, Farm Credit and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
